Best Practices
Follow these guidelines to maximize the value of the MessageMatch system:
Do's
Run as many tests as possible!
While our core product is performing this hyper-personalization function, we have plans in our development roadmap to introduce an intelligence layer to learn from historic conversion and context data, to provide deeper insights and autonomous improvements. The more engagement with our system now, the more capable we'll be to continue to provide better services in the future.
Use the User Prompt!
MessageMatch works by reading your websites content and updating it by UTM keywords; be sure to add any additional or missing context not present on the website that would help the model predictions. The custom user prompt section can be found in the advance settings in the Manage MatchAgent tab.
Examples of when to use the User Prompt:
Events such as the 'Waste Management Open' golf tournament, or special holidays that it would not otherwise understand the meaning of unless explained.
Defining any obscure words or lingo that are used or referenced, such as use of an abstract company name, that is not explicitly defined on the website.
Providing context for certain demographics; this is another service we hope to provide in the future, for regional optimizations, though for the time being, it could be helpful to explain details about your target audiences.
Quality Assurance Checks!
Please check all copy variants for content quality and consistency, before syncing those url's with live campaigns.
Ensure the MatchAgent script is not interfering with any other widgets or add-ons that might already be set up on your pages, such as pop-ups and other add-on page features.
If any inconsistencies arise during the onboard, testing or live campaigns and you cannot resolve through the help docs or dev notes, reach out to us and create a ticket directly through our support tab in the upper right corner of the dashboard.
Inspect the page to find developer troubleshooting notes that could help quickly resolve bugs if errors are shown.
Leverage URL parameters for different contexts.
Leveraging complex matrixes of keywords to test against, this is the advantage of AI and computer systems, to process and interpret large data sets beyond standard humans are capable of!
Archive old campaigns or dud tests to keep the analytics dashboard clean for functional overview.
Monitor usage regularly in your dashboard and report clear winners and lifts to clients!
Don'ts
Deploy in a live setting before doing QA checks.
Don't change prompts unnecessarily, it will create excess noise in the analytics dashboard with each update.
Make public statements before submitting an internal ticket. We are working diligently to provide a high quality product and service for the marketing community and like all great software, it takes a village and belief in future focused technologies to reach that collective success!
Pro Tip
Debugging Secrets: Inspect the page your MatchAgent is loaded on to find developer notes that could help rapidly resolve if errors are present. This information would also greatly assist us in resolve tickets more quickly when presented.
